Title: "Black Gloves" (Eskularru Beltzak)
Author: Jasone Osoro
Published: 2001
Genre: Young Literature

(THERE IS NOT A VERSION IN ENGLISH)

Beire's parents have sent her to a summer camp to study English. Although she is the leader of the classroom in her school, in the summer colony no one considers it, but there she will find in a mysterious boy named Baba the protection, she will also learn boxing.
Once back home, she is part of the group called "Sua" (Fire) that is formed by two of his friends Kar and Lete, to be again the star of the institute and to give cane, but for It seems that in this school year things will be different.

Eskularru beltzak, the first book of the new collection of Jasone Osoro comes stomping. The collection brings us at least 3 more books, which will surely live up to the first. I have been waiting for the next books to come out since I read the first one.

The students of a school are the protagonists of this collection. Relationships between them, adventures, love, issues like jealousy appear in books, but also includes other issues that are not so obvious in it like: lack of security, youthful and brutal weaknesses, bullying, shelters...
In addition, boxing is included this impressive story. It conveys boxing as a way of relief, a way to forget about the daily problems. It teaches us that we have to learn to hit and to get hit, but above all we have learn to keep trying and not giving up. It shows us that boxing and life are more similar than we think. And this metaphor makes the story very interesting and different.

The characters give a lot to talk, we get to know the point of view and the feelings of everyone because it is written in third person, something that facilitates the reading and makes us hook us much more to it. We have six main characters that we will get to know more about when the following books come out. The characters have seemed very suitable and entertaining.

The book is divided into two parts, the first one, it is in summer, when Beire (one of the main characters) goes to a summer camp. Whereas, the second one, it is at the beginning of the course, in September.
In these two parts there is a big difference of personality in one of the characters, Beire, she acts, talks and thinks in a different way in the second part; she has more confidence in the second part because she is in a place where she has social security.

Jasone Osoro leaves us with the uncertainty of knowing what will happen in the next book with a very open ending that only makes us think about what will happen in his next book.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed reading this book, it's a very entertaining reading. It is perfect for the summer because it is simple to understand and it is a fast reading; in addition, Jasone has been able to make me identify myself with the characters.
A highly recommended reading which I will surely read more than once this summer.
